Alan Perlman Photography - Night Sky & Long Exposure | |||||
Welcome to Alan Perlman Photography (@aperlmanphoto)! My love of photography first started with developing my own b/w film in my high school dark room. The first photograph I created was of my Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Cleo, in 1994, who was a beloved member of my family for 16 years and is the main reason for my love of all animals.
Today, I focus my work on night sky and long exposure photography. Techniques that blur water motion, create star trails in the dark sky and long streaks of red and white lights from cars, trains and more. I am proud to be an award winning photographer, recognized by the International Photography Awards in 2020 & 2021. Additionally, my love for animals has also had me doing photo shoots for beloved pets and I have also greatly enjoyed volunteering my work for two great rescue organizations including Social Tees in lower Manhattan and the Columbia Green Humane Society in Hudson, NY. My photographs have helped find forever homes for some amazing dogs, which you can see on this site. ![]() ![]()
Oh, and I'm Alan! I live in the lower Hudson Valley of New York with my wife Lauren, our son Benjamin, our daughter Ava, and our rescue dog, Panda who was saved by Social Tees in New York City.
